The Rural Payments Agency (RPA) have begun to make the Basic Payment Scheme (BPS) 2016 payments. You can check the status of your claim by using the Rural Payments service. However, you should check your bank account regularly as this data may not have been up-dated and payment may have already been made. The RPA are committed to pay 90% of claims by the end of December but those with more complex cases such as commons, probate, business alterations and those awaiting inspection findings may see a delay.
Payment will be accompanied by a remittance advice and a claim statement in due course. It is important to check the payment received is correct and notify the RPA immediately of any errors.
Overall BPS Rate £/ha (Prior to any deductions)
£215.61 for non-SDA (Severely Disadvantaged Areas)
£214.06 for upland SDA, other than moorland
£56.56 for upland SDA moorland
